Cineworld has a pretty good idea of what looks good on a screen. It’s their business, after all. So when they talked to Realisation, their brief was simple: give us a digital signage network that has great visuals, is flexible and boosts sales.
It’s the sort of brief we love. Cineworld’s old DVD play out system was limited, dated and nearing the end of its shelf life.
In its place we recommended they install an up to date network that carries content covering three areas: box office screening times and other customer info; foyer screens, featuring trailers; and concessions for retailers. Basically, everything the Cineworld customer needs to know to enjoy their trip to the movies.
The result was premiered (that’s a cinematic pun, by the way) at Cineworld’s relaunched Wandsworth site, with 20 screens strategically positioned around the venue all designed to improve the customer experience. Screens not only advised cinema goers which viewings were almost sold out (in glorious real-time), but also featured teaser clips for best sellers such as Coke, popcorn and pick ‘n’ mix.
With Wandsworth under their belt, Cineworld turned its attention to transforming three other sites before rolling out digital signage to its entire estate.
