One of the trickiest things about buying a mobile phone is knowing which tariff to choose. It’s also one of the trickiest things about selling a mobile phone.
Carphone Warehouse knows more about selling mobile phones than anyone, so in 2008 they chose Realisation to develop My Tariff Checker. As its name suggests, this was a live, interactive screen network that helped customers buy – and its staff sell – handsets at all tariffs across all networks.
The system was designed to be live, so all tariffs were bang up to date. And interactive, so staff have a simple user interface to help customers explore the options and get the deal that’s right for them. A standalone interactive kiosk, just for customers, complemented the store system which was installed in hundreds of Carphone Warehouse branches.
Behind the scenes, we worked with Carphone’s IT and marketing teams to make sure My Tariff Checker ticked all the technical boxes but was consistent with the Carphone brand.
Additionally, we played an instrumental role when Carphone were brainstorming their next generation of Wireless stores. They asked us to advise on the role digital screens could play within the stores. Working as consultants, we recommended, sourced and supplied a full digital signage solution, including project managing the installation and networking. The format was so successful it is now a major part of the Carphone retail estate.
